oky this whole thing's in old chinese.. a bit unnerving.
yup i'm currently on holiday with my mother in hongkong... the place where i just worry about the lit signs hanging above our heads swaying in the night breezes dropping directly down upon the masses below.. and my mother worries about everything else - from getting some disease from a manicurist to the slight rust on the hotel room toilet's towel bars. she's currently upstairs changing into something warmer for our traipsing about today, think we're gonna take the ferry and go to the peak or something. meanwhile, i realise i completely severely underpacked and am slightly freezing :) but i like it, reminds me of the good ol'days in penn state, especially with mimi yuen by my side on some of the days. :)
mil, her mom and her mom's sis-in-law and my mother and i went to shenzhen yesterday.. it's sorta like queensway and people's park multiplied a hundred fold. i'm happy the language barrier forces me to be unable to do the embarrassing bargaining part, but i'm also upset that i don't understand much of what transpires around me. it's so interesting how the chinese characters are the same for each dialect and how i completely don't understand mil when she speaks cantonese to me and she doesn't understand my teochew (which i don't think is THAT bad by the way).
okay mom's back. gonna head off now. take cares yall
